Ian Rendon

Born in Havana, Cuba, Ian Rendón brings a wealth of international playing and coaching experience to the Ontario Baseball Academy. A left-handed pitcher renowned for his exceptional command and deceptive curveball, Rendón spent over a decade with Industriales, one of Cuba’s most storied teams in the Serie Nacional de Béisbol. His career included appearances in national playoffs and international tournaments, where he earned recognition for his composure and precise pitching mechanics. In 2016, he extended his professional career to Canada, signing with the Kitchener Panthers of the Intercounty Baseball League, where he became known for his consistency on the mound and deep understanding of hitters’ tendencies.
Today, Rendón channels that same technical mastery into his coaching. At the Ontario Baseball Academy, he focuses on developing pitchers who combine discipline, athletic intelligence, and adaptability—traits that defined his own playing career. His training sessions emphasise pitch control, mechanical efficiency, and game-situation strategy, helping players progress confidently toward collegiate and professional opportunities. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Rendón brings a global perspective to the OBA program, inspiring athletes to approach the game with precision, respect, and a relentless drive for improvement.
