Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Damian Blen is a lifelong baseball professional whose career spans elite international play and decades of advanced player development. As Head Trainer and Coach at the Ontario Baseball Academy (OBA) in Hamilton, Ontario, Damian brings over 30 years of experience as a player, coach, and mentor, shaping the next generation of athletes through high-performance training and discipline-based instruction.
 

A graduate of Cuba’s renowned national baseball system, he was selected at a young age to attend one of the country’s government-run sports academies, where he developed under world-class coaches. He went on to play professionally in Cuba and later in the North American independent leagues, where his technical skill and game intelligence earned respect across the baseball community.
 

Before moving to Canada, Damian also coached within the Cuban national development structure, including serving as an infield and defensive coach for the Cuban Junior National Team from 1995 to 1997. During his tenure, Cuba captured multiple international gold medals at world, Pan American, and Central American levels.
 

Since establishing his coaching career in Ontario, Damian has become one of the province’s most respected baseball instructors. At the Ontario Baseball Academy, his training philosophy blends Cuban technical precision with a North American focus on strength, agility, and baseball IQ. He oversees advanced athlete development, infield mechanics, hitting technique, and game strategy, preparing players for collegiate, professional, and international opportunities.
 

Through his leadership, OBA has become a central training hub for dedicated athletes seeking professional-level instruction in Canada. Damian’s commitment to excellence, respect, and perseverance defines the OBA culture and continues to inspire players both on and off the field.
